Oh my gosh!!! Finally the end is near. Postcards are done, little note cards are made, buttons will be ordered from an Etsy supplier just awaiting a response to a quiry. I've been assured they'll arrive on time. Yeah!

Just have to find my guest journal - must have a look around the studio - I'm sure it's in the bookcase or on a shelf under the coffee table.  Then everything will be sorted and all I have to do is pack the van. Thank goodness the 3' x 4' paintings will lay flat in the back. Must remember to take show bag with  the sponges, touch up,  taki, measuring tape and hammer.

Tomorrow will be fun. Looking forward to set up. It's always interesting to see my paintings in a different setting and with different lighting. My friend Jim is coming to lend a hand and his expertise. Always good to have another set of eyes and pair of hands, particularly when setting up using a different hanging system.

Good Saturday Morning to Ya'll!

The morning began with a uop of herbal tea and a hot cross bun. We begin slooowly here on the weekends usually.

A run down to the studio to pick a couple of paintings to put into Indulgence Bakery. Local artists participating in the Pelham Art Festival are asked to place a painting or 2 in a local business as away to promote the festival. It always amazes me that some locals have never been to the art festival or even know it exists in their town where they have lived all their lives. The festival is now in it's 26th year and we have juried artists from across the province of Ontario and the US.

Multi tasking, multi tasking ran from bakery to grocery store for some fresh veggies and chicken. Got home in time for my husband to tell me I had 2 calls while I was out one from my cousin re, my son's wedding in Mexico and the other from an artist who was running late getting a cheque to me for the Summerfest Art Show which I manage.

The excitement is beginning to build already for the new show season. Here it's kicked off with the Gala evening for the Pelham Art Festival were 65artists will be showing their new work for 2012. It's so much fun to hug friends and wish them well. We have live music, wine and munchies for the Gala. The Festival is a three day event. Saturday evening there is a pot luck BBQ for the artists held at a local farm. Everyone kicks back and there is lively chatter about the up coming season, new works, etc.

Must put finishing touches to "The Queen's Backside Show". Still need to create & print a final list of paintings with prices. Additional signage, and small blank note card run to use as give aways during the reception. I think I'll check my friends on Etsy to see if I can get perhaps some buttons or magnets to use as give aways too. Gotta love the creative pool that I can draw from on Etsy.

The Queen's Backside & The Niagara Peninsula

Today is Friday, the studio is busy,it's is cluttered with boxes, paintings, tape guns, packing materials (love to pop the bubbles). What's up? The Queen's Backside is what's up. A new solo show for the Rosberg Gallery. The title for the show comes from a small plein aire painting I did of the back of the buildings on Queen Street in Niagara Falls Canada. I know it's a little irreverent but what they hey it's catchy and fun.

Well after getting the paintings ready I decided to tackle making postcards on my computer. I should preface this by saying that generic products from a business supply can be a royal pain in the tuckas!
The generic box of post cards stated quite clearly that it was the same as Avery #. Well they fib!! Half of the post cards were ruined because the fronts did not print the complete layout. Next time I'll go to an online print company. Even old (er) artists can learn new tricks!
